Depp Impact Updates

It has been nearly a year and a half since my Team and I began working to bring Depp Impact up to date. Although Trish Bennett created a great foundation to work from, the site needed much work. Due to the effects of hackers, the entire Photoshoot photo gallery had to be recreated. Also, all sections were not current - some by as many as 5 years behind.

We didn't stop with updating what existed on Depp Impact. We worked to keep it current as events occurred. Also, new pages were added - Johnny Depp's Body Art and Johnny Depp's Artwork - as well as entire new sections for Johnny Depp's Music and Vanessa Paradis. And we worked to make the site more user-friendly with greater organization and sub-sections.

Thousands of hours were devoted to create a great resource for those wanting to know more about the man we greatly admire - for long-time admirers and for those new to the fandom.

I am pleased, and proud, to announce that Depp Impact is now up to date.

My deepest gratitude goes to Depp Impact's Team and to all the dedicated admires who helped along the way. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

This is our labor of love - to you and to the man that brought us together, Johnny Depp. May there be many more years to celebrate.

Join Depp Impact, Johnny's Angels and Johnny Depp in supporting Children's Hospice.

Lisa Buell's daughter, Madison, succumbed to cancer at age two and a half. That was ten years ago. There was no Children's Hospice then, but Lisa, Madison and their family were fortunate. They received support from family and friends. Lisa now works for Children's Hospice as a writer and parent's advocate. She provides support to families facing the same challenges she faced, helping them navigate the turbulent waters she once sailed.

Madison's sister Delaney's second grade class was learning about the Day of the Dead. Lisa talked to them about Madison. She told them a little about her illness. The children asked how Madison died. They talked about cancer, about how much time they spent in the hospital, how scary it was and how much they had to learn along the way. Then Lisa told them that she works for Children's Hospice. This is how she explained to them what Children's Hospice does:

"When the kids asked how I helped people, I gave the analogy of doing a puzzle. 'Would it be easier for a person to do a puzzle who had never done it before or for the person who had?' I asked. It was unanimous; all of the kids voted in favor of the experienced Puzzlemaster. 'What if you could talk with the people who made the puzzle?,' I asked. Again, they agreed. Well, I explained one of my jobs is get to let doctors know about the pieces of the puzzle that don’t fit very well and help to get them changed."

Lisa talked with the children about community and how important it is to help people in need, even if you don't know them. The children understood.

Johnny understands. He supports the greater community through many charitable acts, most recently with the Captain Jack Sparrow egg for The Royal Blind School. He visits sick children in London's Great Ormand Street Hospital dressed as Jack Sparrow. He grants wishes through Make A Wish. He shows his support for Children's Hospice by wearing Dustin's "Today is a gift" bracelet often.

Johnny's Angels understands. They honor Johnny by supporting Children's Hospice with numerous fundraisers year round. Knowing that they make a difference is their only reward.

We can show we understand. We can show our support. We can join Johnny's Angels, Johnny and Children's Hospice. Together we can make a difference. No donation is too small.

Please give before the promotion ends on Johnny's birthday, June 9th.

MTV EXCLUSIVE: 'Alice In Wonderland' Johnny Depp Q&A And Bonus Feature Clip Prepare You For June 1 DVD

Alice In Wonderland - Fearne Speaks To Johnny Depp & Tim Burton

Provided by the BBC

The BBC also has an interview with the cast from the London premiere:
Johnny Depp greets fans at Alice In Wonderland premiere

Drinking Blood: New Wonders of Alice’s World

INSTEAD of Wonderland, it’s Underland. Instead of Alice as a bored but clever child, we get Alice as a 19-year-old rebel and warrior, dispatching the monstrous Jabberwocky with a magic sword. Disney’s second rendering of Lewis Carroll’s fantasy, in other words, is a world apart from both its 1951 cartoon version and the original Victorian-era text.

Review: Captivating Freaks Populate Eye-Popping Alice in Wonderland

Everybody keeps jabbering about the Jabberwocky monster in Disney’s 3-D reboot of Alice in Wonderland. But like many of the most excellent adventures, it’s the journey — not the destination smackdown between Alice and the evil serpent beast — that makes for a thoroughly engaging escapade.

Back in 2003, Johnny Depp famously panicked Disney executives with his whacked-out turn as Pirates of the Caribbean’s Captain Jack Sparrow — only to have the character become an instant icon. Take not what you can. Give something back. - A request from susan

The premieres for Alice in Wonderland will soon be upon us. Fans will begin to gather at the venues hours before the red carpet is rolled out. The press will arrive, their arms loaded with cameras. Excitement will build as the stars walk the red carpet. Then a roar from the crowd will announce Johnny's presence before he is seen. He will work his way down the lines, signing and greeting as many as possible before finally stopping for a few moments with the press. We've seen this many times before - either standing on the sidelines or in photos and videos from those present.

Johnny has said many times that being so generous and kind to his admirers is the least he can do. He takes time at these events to let us know how much he appreciates our support.

The moments he spends with each person are fleeting. To complicate matters, those waiting are often anxious, nervous or excited. A few shove to get closer. Some shout to him. Most push something forward they want him to sign . Others request that he do something for them. And all this happens while cameras are flashing all around him. It is amazing that he can remain so seemingly calm. That he knows exactly what he is going to face yet still gives his time so freely speaks to his character.

I believe many people react the way they do because it is what is expected at these events. Therefore, I am asking for you to consider an alternative.

Imagine for a moment how it must be to be Johnny - people shouting, cameras flashing, things being pushed at you to sign, chaos surrounding you.

Some of you will be in the crowd for the upcoming premieres. I'm asking you to provide Johnny an oasis amid the chaos. Instead of taking from him, I ask that you give to him. Offer him your smile instead of shouting his name. In lieu of pursuing an autograph, make eye contact and express your support. Forgo the close-up photo - offer him your hand and gratitude for giving so freely of his time. Ask if you can give him a hug instead of asking him for one. With these simple gestures, I have no doubt that the experience will be more pleasant for both you and Johnny. And it will make a difference.

Please feel free to spread the word on our sister fan-sites that you frequent. Together we can make a positive change and, over time, more and more people will join us.
